RelayHub: AI inbox that keeps humans on the hard calls

Twilio + OpenAI inbox automation

RelayHub connects Twilio numbers to OpenAI assistants. Teams run a shared inbox, steer automated replies with admin prompts, and turn uploaded files into short digests the whole group can use.

Project intent

One shared inbox for phone and chat, with AI that clears routine replies and file digests so people only jump in when judgment matters.

Challenge

Support and sales lived in separate phone trees, SMS threads, and chat tools. Nobody owned the full conversation. Response times slipped, handoffs got messy, and long attachments sat unread while the team guessed what mattered.

Solution

We shipped a React Native app plus a web console on Django and FastAPI. Twilio webhooks land in one intelligent inbox. OpenAI drafts replies under prompt rules you control per contact group. S3 stores attachments, and Sentry plus CloudWatch watch errors and load. Mobile is on the App Store and Play Store. The console runs on Vercel. APIs sit on EC2 and ECS with Docker.

Results

  • Phone and digital channels share one triage workflow
  • AI drafts replies with admin-controlled prompts and contact groups
  • Uploads become short digests the team can share in seconds
  • Production visibility through Sentry and AWS CloudWatch
